Transgenic Impression is eneg's third release. The title of the work comes from the artist's fascination with the human genome project; particularly the use of computers to decipher billions of bits of data to decode life itself. This incredible life-digital energy of the human genome serves as eneg's main inspiration: create dynamic and shape shifting music that also lives and breathes in many different aesthetic directions. This work incorporates many different styles of electronica to form what might best be called, "deconstructed drum and bass" music. While there is an undercurrent of throbbing bottom-end on many of these tracks, slices of unexpected ambient beauty lurk behind many corners; not to mention some bombastic, breakcore trickery to further enliven the listening experience. References are futile but one might think Funkarma meets Arovane meets Tetsu Inoue and get close to what eneg's Transgenic Impression is all about.
